Portfolio > Circle Drawing Survey

Corrie Baldauf Cranbrook London
Cinching Impact
ink on cotton paper
22" x 22"

The rings of this drawing begin as regular geometric circles, then become disrupted and cinched. Dotted hairlines pull the pattern as the noise of the city interrupts the rhythm of the pen. Events outside of my control, yet within my awareness, become the subject of the drawing. Conversation and sound, often thought of as peripheral to visual art, is the most important material woven into my practice. I transform the sharpness of the environment around me to find calm and attention.
